Natural smile after veneers

Porcelain veneers

  • Diagnostic wax-up and trial veneers before the final porcelain
  • Minimal or no tooth preparation
  • Digital impressions with an intraoral scanner
  • 2–3 visits over about 1–2 weeks

Veneers are thin porcelain shells bonded to the front of the teeth to change colour, shape, length and spacing. We first create a diagnostic wax-up on a model so you can preview the result, then prepare the teeth minimally (0.3–0.7 mm) or, when suitable, with no preparation at all. Many patients complete their smile after jaw or contouring surgery once the bite is stable.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Sang-Hoon Lee, board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Veneers or whitening?

If only the colour bothers you, whitening comes first. If shape, length or spacing needs to change, or the discolouration does not respond to bleaching, veneers are the answer. The two are often combined.

Care and longevity

With normal brushing, flossing and six-monthly check-ups veneers often last more than 10 years. Avoid biting hard objects with the front teeth; a night guard is recommended if you grind.

How Dr. Lee decides whether to operate

Rather than treating more patients, I want to listen fully to one person, think it through myself, and stay responsible from treatment to recovery.
